About InsightHire

InsightHire builds async screening software that helps recruiting and hiring teams decide who to interview before they burn hours on phone screens. Companies design one consistent candidate journey per role—invite, documents, culture fit, scored interviews, and score gates—candidates complete it on their own time, and teams get a ranked shortlist with clear evidence behind every rank. We’re focused on replacing noisy early-stage hiring with a fairer, documented process that puts live interview time only on the strongest fits.

About the role

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role.

We're looking for someone who can sell today and build the sales organization of tomorrow.

As VP of Sales, you'll own the entire sales function at InsightHire—from generating leads and running demos to closing customers, developing sales collateral, defining quotas, building processes, and eventually hiring and leading a high-performing sales team.

This is not a role where you'll inherit an established sales organization.

You'll help create it.

Our primary focus is on small and mid-sized organizations, so we're looking for someone who understands how to build an efficient, repeatable SaaS sales motion without unnecessary complexity or long enterprise sales cycles.

Responsibilities

What You'll Own

You'll have responsibility for the full sales lifecycle and overall revenue strategy, including:

  • Personally prospecting and generating new leads
  • Building outbound strategies across email, LinkedIn, phone, events, referrals, partnerships, and other channels
  • Conducting discovery calls and product demonstrations
  • Managing opportunities from first conversation through close
  • Building relationships with business owners, HR leaders, Talent Acquisition teams, hiring managers, and other key stakeholders
  • Understanding customer pain points and clearly communicating InsightHire's value
  • Developing and executing the company's overall sales strategy
  • Establishing revenue goals, individual quotas, KPIs, activity targets, and performance expectations
  • Building forecasting and pipeline-management processes
  • Creating the sales playbook from the ground up
  • Developing pitch decks, demo scripts, messaging, prospecting sequences, objection handling, competitive positioning, proposals, and other sales materials
  • Testing different markets, messaging, pricing strategies, and sales approaches
  • Identifying InsightHire's strongest ideal customer profiles
  • Building repeatable processes that shorten the sales cycle and improve conversion
  • Recruiting, hiring, onboarding, coaching, and managing future sales team members
  • Creating compensation structures and incentive plans as the sales organization grows
  • Partnering closely with Product and Marketing
  • Bringing customer and prospect feedback directly into product and company strategy
  • Participating in conversations with customers, prospects, partners, investors, and other stakeholders
  • Representing InsightHire at industry events, networking opportunities, webinars, and conferences
  • Reporting pipeline, forecasts, performance, challenges, and opportunities to executive leadership

Qualifications

Who We're Looking For

We're looking for a builder, seller, and leader.

The ideal candidate has:

  • 7+ years of B2B SaaS sales experience
  • Sales leadership experience with a proven history of achieving revenue goals
  • Experience selling SaaS solutions to SMB and mid-market customers
  • Strong experience generating their own pipeline rather than relying solely on inbound leads
  • A demonstrated ability to prospect, run discovery, demo software, negotiate, and close
  • Experience creating or significantly improving a sales process
  • Experience hiring, coaching, and developing salespeople
  • Strong understanding of pipeline management, forecasting, quotas, KPIs, and sales performance metrics
  • The ability to develop compelling sales messaging and collateral
  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to have strategic conversations with company leaders
  • Comfort working in a fast-moving startup environment where priorities evolve quickly
  • A willingness to execute—not simply delegate
